Operating Hours:
The park generally closes one hour before dark. For registered camping and cabin guests, the front gate is open 24 hours a day. After hours registration is available at the Front Entrance Gate for Cabin and Camping Guests until 9 p.m.

Lunker Lake at Oak Mountain State Park
 

Day Use Fees:
Weekdays: $2 for Adults
Weekends and Holidays: $3 for Adults
Children 6 to 11 years of age: $1
Senior Citizens 62 years of age and older: $1

As Alabama's largest park, Oak Mountain provides 9,940 acres of pine-studded ridges and lush green hardwood bottoms. The park offers vacation cottages, golf, pro shop with snack bar, improved camping, picnicking, swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, mountain bike trails, backpacking, a demonstration farm and horseback riding facilities. With the largest area and variety of outdoor recreational pursuits, Oak Mountain is sure to provide excitement for every member of the family!

Horseback Riding at the Stables

The Wildlife Center: Located in Oak Mountain State Park, it is the largest wildlife rehabilitation center in Alabama and cares for over 2,000 injured and orphaned wild creatures each year. Visitors may view the rehabilitation process through one-way glass and learn about native species.


Tree-top Nature Trail

The Treetop Nature Trail offers close-up views of unreleasable hawks and owls in natural habitat enclosures from an elevated walkway in the woods. Open every day, it is handicapped accessible.
